Easter doesn’t belong to one Sunday a year. In this episode, we’re asking a question that gets personal fast: what if the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is meant to be lived every day, not simply remembered? If the tomb is empty and Jesus is alive, then fear doesn’t get to lead, spiritual dryness doesn’t get to define you, and your quiet obedience is never wasted. We open Scripture and sit with the weight of 1 Corinthians 15, where the Resurrection isn’t symbolic language, it’s the foundation that holds up our hope and offers real biblical encouragement for everyday life.

We also explore the New Testament idea of anastasis (ἀνάστασις), the rising up that only God can do, and how Romans 6 invites us to walk in newness of life right now. That means your home, your work, your business, your relationships, and your hidden moments of faithfulness become places where resurrection power shows up. We talk honestly about why time in the Bible, prayer, and devotions can drift when life gets noisy, and how God’s invitation is always relationship, not perfection.

Then we share a practical support we use in coaching, the Aroma Freedom Technique, connecting a bit of neuroscience with the way scent, emotions, and feelings interact. The goal isn’t to replace Scripture, but to calm the mind and body so God’s truth can be received more clearly and our thoughts can align with His Word. We also touch on how aromatherapy and essential oils can support a more peaceful, intentional space as you meet with God.

You’ll also hear about my “How to Hear God’s Voice Again” prompt cards, created to help you rebuild a simple rhythm of listening, reflecting, and responding to the Lord with greater peace and clarity. Grab your copy at PaulaBehrens.com/prompt-cards.

Easter As A Daily Life

Paula Behrens

Let me begin with this question. And I want you to really let it settle in your heart. What if the Resurrection of Jesus Christ was never meant to be remembered only once a year, but reverently lived, deeply treasured, and faithfully walked out every single day of your life? What if the empty tomb is not just a historical truth you believe, but a present reality? And what if the same Risen Savior who stepped out of that tomb is calling you to rise with him, intentionally releasing fear, distraction, spiritual dryness, and embracing a life that reflects his glory in both quiet and visible ways? Stay with me because at the end of this episode, I'm going to share something simple and spirit-led that can help you begin hearing God's voice again through his word and his presence. It's a free set of prompt cards, and I'm going to tell you how you can receive them before we close. Today we're going to honor the meaning of Easter with reverence, not just as an event, but as a foundation of our faith, not just as a celebration, but as a daily calling. We're going to look at what scripture reveals about the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and how that truth is meant to shape how you live, think, speak, and reach others for Him, right where God has placed you. Because the Resurrection is not just something that happened, it is everything. In a world that often celebrates the loud and visible, it's easy to feel as though your quiet acts of devotion go unnoticed. Yet scripture assures us that God sees every hidden moment of faithfulness and he uses them to weave his redemptive story in ways we may never fully comprehend. If you're navigating past wounds, finding it challenging to practice grace and difficult relationships, are longing to see how God can use your seemingly small steps to create meaningful change, this podcast is for you. Hey friend, ever wonder how the Aroma of Christ coaching hour uses pure natural scents to bring calm and clarity into your faith walk? Let me give you a quick overview. Before our session, you'll get a free essential oil sampler in the mail carefully selected aromas to use on our call together, where we'll dive into the peace reset. If this podcast has been a blessing to you or helped you grow in your walk with Christ, would you take a moment to leave a review? It only takes a minute, and your words help more women discover this space and be encouraged in their faith as well. Thank you so much. I truly appreciate your support. All right, friend, it's go time. Grab your journal, open up that Bible, pour yourself something warm and wonderful, and let's jump right in together. The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of the gospel. We know that. Without it, there is no victory over sin, there is no hope beyond death, there is no living Savior interceding for us at the right hand of the Father. Scripture tells us in 1 Corinthians 15 that if Christ has not been raised, our faith is futile. But then comes a triumphant declaration. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead. This is not symbolic language. This is truth. Jesus physically rose from the grave, conquering sin, death, and the power of darkness. The cross was not the end. The tomb was not the end. Resurrection lives on today, and it is the victory. And this is where reverence must settle into our hearts. Because the Resurrection is not casual, it is holy. It is a demonstration of God's power, God's promise, and God's perfect plan fulfilled through our Risen Savior. When we look at the Resurrection through the lens of scripture, we see that it was foretold, accomplished, and witnessed. Jesus Himself spoke of it before it happened. The prophets pointed toward it. And after it occurred, lives were forever changed. Mary Magdalene encountered the Risen Christ and went from weeping to proclaiming. The disciples, once fearful in hiding, became bold witnesses. Everything changed because Jesus was alive. And friend, that same truth stands today. Jesus is alive, not distant, not silent, not absent, alive. And his Resurrection is not just a past event to admire, it is a present reality that calls for a response. There's a Greek word used in the New Testament that captures the depth of this truth. The word is anastasis (ἀνάστασις). It's most often translated as resurrection, but its meaning carries a deeper sense of rising up, a standing again, or being raised to new life. Anastasis (ἀνάστασις) is not something we can achieve on our own, like self-improvement. It's not a human effort at all. It is the power of God bringing eternal life. When Jesus rose from the dead on that first Easter morning, he became the first fruits of all who belong to him. We see that in 1 Corinthians chapter 15, verse 20. His Resurrection points ahead to the glorious anastasis (ἀνάστασις), the resurrection of all believers on the last day, and the final certain victory over death. What a reason to celebrate. But scripture also reminds us of this beautiful truth. Those who are in Christ are not only promised new life, someday they are invited to walk in that new life right now, today, even in this very moment. Romans 6 tells us that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too are given the power to walk in newness of life. And this is where it becomes deeply personal. Because anastasis (ἀνάστασις) is not only something we believe in, it is something we receive and live out as we surrender our lives to Christ. It is the very Spirit of Jesus dwelling within us, raising us into a new way of living. Now let us bring this into the rhythm of daily life. Many of you listening here are not standing in pulpits or leading large ministries. You may be working from home, managing your household, building a business, raising children, or quietly serving others in ways that are unseen by most. And yet, the call to live in the power of the Resurrection is not reserved for a select few. It is for every believer. Every single day you wake up is a gift from God and an opportunity to live in the light of the Resurrection. But how do we do that in a way that's rooted in scripture and not just emotion? We begin by returning to the word, because the word of God anchors us in truth when our feelings fluctuate. The word reminds us who Jesus is, what he has done, and who we are in him. When you open your Bible, you're not just reading words on a page, you are encountering the living truth that points you back to the Risen Christ. And this is where many believers struggle. Not because they don't love God, but because life becomes noisy, it becomes messy, distractions creep in, responsibilities pile up. And before you know it, time in the word becomes inconsistent, and hearing God's voice feels so distant. This is not a place of condemnation, it is an invitation because the same God who raised Jesus from the dead is patient, faithful, and always drawing you back to Him. He is not asking for perfection, he is inviting you into relationship. And relationship requires time, attention, and a willing heart. Now I want to gently bring in something that can support this process in a very practical way, while keeping our foundation firmly rooted in Christ and His Word. The aroma freedom technique is a tool that helps you become aware of thoughts and emotional patterns that may be interfering with your ability to fully receive truth. Let me explain this simply. God created your brain with incredible design. It stores memories, forms connections, and creates patterns based on experiences, especially emotional ones. When something painful, stressful, or overwhelming happens, your brain can form patterns that continue to influence your thoughts long after the moment has passed. Even when you know scripture, even when you believe truth, those patterns can sometimes make it difficult to feel aligned with what you know. That's where understanding a little bit about neuroscience becomes helpful. The part of your brain that processes emotion is closely connected to your sense of smell. That's why certain scents can instantly bring back a memory or shift how you're feeling. The aroma freedom technique uses this connection in a gentle way. As you identify a thought or belief that doesn't align with God's word, you invite the Holy Spirit into that space. You use specific essential oils or aromas to help calm your body and mind, creating an environment where truth can be received more clearly. This is the technique I use in my coaching sessions. But it's not about replacing scripture. It's about removing what's interfering so you can more fully receive what scripture already says. It's about aligning your thoughts with God's truth. And that is a deeply biblical principle. We're told in Romans 12 to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. This is one way to cooperate with that renewal. Imagine beginning your day with reverence, not rushing, not distracted, but pausing before the Lord, opening his word, letting the truth of the Resurrection settle into your heart, taking a deep breath and saying, Lord, because you live, I live. Because you rose, I have hope. Speak to me through your word today. That's how Easter becomes daily, not in outward celebration alone, but in inward transformation. And as you live this way, something beautiful begins to happen. Your life starts to reflect Christ, not in a forced or striving way, but in a natural outflow of his presence within you. When you respond with grace instead of frustration, you are reflecting him. When you choose truth over fear, you are reflecting him. When you hold on to hope in difficult moments, you are reflecting him. And people notice, especially in everyday environments, your home, your online interactions, your conversations with friends, clients, or even strangers. You don't need to create opportunities to reach others for Christ. When you are rooted in him, opportunities come. Sometimes it's a simple conversation. Sometimes it's someone asking, How do you stay so peaceful? Sometimes it's sharing a scripture that encouraged you. These are not small things, they are kingdom moments. Before we close, I want to return to something I mentioned at the beginning. If you've been longing to hear God's voice more clearly, if you desire to be more consistent in spending time with him, if you want to live daily in the truth of his word and the power of his Resurrection, I created something simple but deeply meaningful. It's a set of prompt cards called "How to Hear God's Voice Again." These are designed to gently guide you back into the rhythm of listening, reflecting, and responding to God. They are rooted in Scripture and they're meant to help you quiet the noise and focus your heart on Him. You can receive them for free at PaulaBehrens.com/prompt-cards. That's Paula Behrens B-E-H-R-E-N-S .com/prompt-cards (no spaces). Take time with them. Let them lead you into his word. Let them become part of your daily time with the Lord. Because hearing his voice is not reserved for just a few. It is part of your relationship with him. Okay, so as we close this episode, I want you to carry this truth with you. The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is not behind you. It is before you. It is within you. It is the power of God at work in your life, calling you to rise, to walk in truth, and to reflect his glory in every space he has placed you. Every morning is an invitation to remember, to receive, to rise, to live your life for Christ. Thank you for tuning in today. And remember, just like setting biblical boundaries, it's okay to say no to things that don't serve you well, like that third piece of cake at the church potluck. If you were blessed by this episode, be sure to share it with a friend and leave a review so that we can reach even more listeners like you. Check the show notes for all the links.
